Personal Statement: Growing up an athlete, I was always scared of getting injured. The one thing I loved most of all was soccer. I tried to avoid anything that could potentially make me miss playing. This lead me to research how to reduce risk factors of injuries common in my sport. This is where my passion sparked. I knew I wanted to involve myself with healthcare, to help keep athletes doing what they love, but I was not sure how. As a student, I exposed myself to different realms of human health including spiritual. Continuing to grow as an individual, my spiritual journey and personal interests intersected. Faith has always been important to me. I always wanted to help people feel valued and important. Athletic Training is an avenue where these values can be expressed.
In my eyes, everyone deserves the right to have equal treatment and care. Unfortunately, in healthcare this is not always the case. I was determined to find a career that has the greatest opportunity to treat their populations the same. In my perspective, athletic training is a way in which I can help others while treating them as individuals. I want to work in healthcare as an athletic trainer. I aim to help my patients in any way that is possibly beneficial for their wellbeing. I want to treat my athletes as people first and their impairments second. As an extrovert I intend to build an interpersonal relationship with my athletes, coaches, and administrators. It is vital in any job within healthcare to have well developed interpersonal communication skills, with an extrovert personality it is evident that I thrive with dialogue.

Statement of Purpose: I am a soon to be certified athletic trainer, who is eager to pursue a career focusing a practice in athletic training. As an undergraduate athletic training student and four-year collegiate athlete, sports and human health is paramount. Being involved with athletic performance and helping athletes through their traumas has always been my passion. I concentrate my skills in providing care to the patient first, impairment second. Having over 900+ hours of clinical practice and a combined 50+ hours assisting physical therapists, physicians, and radiologists, I am well prepared for clinical practice. As an intuitive task-oriented time manager I find joy in difficult problem solving. My undergrad program design allowed me to develop as a student and future clinician tackling big and small scale problems. The small hands on classes created for a intense and fun learning environment.
Personal Mission: To become an athletic trainer who is caring, empathetic, and carries an optimistic attitude that can be seen between me and my patients.
